Flaming Geyser River Float
Floaters beware, just tried this float on Tuesday from Flaming Geyser State Park to SR18 Bridge and it is not recommended. After 8 hours in the water, dealing with really slow and shallow areas, as well as fast and swift areas with logs, We had to get off at Green River Valley…

How does one float the Green River?
Hello, fellow Washingtonians! First I'd like to apologize for format, I'm on mobile. I grew up here in western Washington and have yet to float the Green River. I was really hoping to do it this August but I have no idea where to start and end. After asking several friends…
Any river floats nearby?
I searched online, and the closest I found was Olympia. Is there even any swimming rivers here?

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Flaming Geyser State Park for its pleasant picnic facilities, river access, and easy trails, making it a great spot for family outings and day trips. However, some express disappointment that the 'flaming' geyser is often inactive, and certain trails can become overgrown.
"Easy trail that’s mostly flat. Damp and covered in leaves but no mud. I was able to do this trail in tennis shoes. Several spots to view the river and near the end there’s an area where you can stand on a rocky beach next to the river. The bubbling geyser was interesting. Apparently it’s an old coal shaft from the 1900s that’s releasing methane gas and causing white foam. The flaming geyser was dry. About 0.7 miles in it starts to become overgrown. I had to turn back with 10% left because I was body pushing through wet brush.
I thought that the park itself was great. From the main parking lot, you have flushable toilet toilets, quite a few picnic tables and grills everywhere, multiple covered awnings for shade, a children’s playground and multiple access to the river. This is a great park for a picnic or a birthday party. According to the map, there’s also areas for river fishing and horse trails.
Discovery Pass required. Sold at main gate."

"Lots of parking, good trails and several points of interest. There are lots of picnic shelters to reserve as well as picnic tables that are first come, first served. A few of the picnic tables have a grill or fire pit nearby, but not that many. There is river access and lots of beautiful nature to explore."

"Nice state park close to Seattle/Tacoma area. Has 2 geysers, one can be lit with a lighter, the other can be observed in the creek."
