"How do you rank lower than a one-star because Crossroads Carnegie Art Center has earned a negative rating. Specifically, CCAC’s chairman of the board Brian Watt is an imposter. He knows nothing about music and can barely get air through a trumpet yet he is given the opportunity to teach private lessons. A bad teacher is far worse than no teacher. A retired bureaucrat with NO training in music and ZERO musical ability should never instruct any music student. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so don’t take my word for it, simply ask Mr. Watt to play a tune for you. It should be illegal to place someone like this in front of students. Worst of all, Watt lacks the ability to recognize a talented musician; it’s like asking someone who guzzles Dole Grape Juice all day to judge a fine wine. It’s not his fault (other than lacking the insight to understand how dangerous a bad teacher and that he is the worst representation of a music instructor I’ve ever seen), it is Crossroads’ fault for allowing this to happen. It is a farce. I’ve studied music on a serious basis my whole life, I can recognize bad musicianship right away and I can tell you that it would be far more appropriate to have one of Watt’s students give him lessons. This should never happen (and the school board is equally culpable for hiring Watt to teach music classes. Nobody would condone allowing someone who can’t even add or subtract to teach algebra. Why then, is someone like Watt allowed to teach anyone about music? It really does Crossroads look foolish and incompetent."
