"Beautiful hike at sunset! Ending up clocking just over a mile so it’s a short one but still highly recommended. It’s nearby some other good trails in Joshua Tree as well."

Jess Robach

"Nice easy trail. Around 1.3 miles loop with only 100 feet elevation gain. You get to the dam around half a mile in, going clockwise. The dam would make for a good sunset spot, but I didn't stay that long. Easy to find parking when I got there around 4:40pm on a Saturday in February. Lots of people at the dam, so didn't wait around to get a good solo shot."

Vipul Singh

"Easy loop trail with views of the Barker Dam, petroglyphs, and nature. No wildlife sightings during our hike at sunset on January 14. Plenty of parking and two vault toilets at the trailhead."
