What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Joshua Tree's unique desert landscape, otherworldly rock formations, and iconic trees. The park's accessibility by car and the stunning stargazing opportunities are frequently praised. However, many caution about the extreme heat during summer months and the lack of shade and food services within the park, emphasizing the need for ample water and preparation.
"Such an astounding and awesome place to adventure around. Even during the elevated temperatures, you can drive through the park and stop at countless exhibits and short trails. For those feeling more adventurous, try hiking out to see the old mine and shaft that were used during the gold rush. Ohh, and be sure to check out the Cholla Garden and Arch Rock. Beyond that, the visitor centers are awesome and the employees are both helpful and knowledgeable. If you're out in this area, I'd say Joshua Tree NP is a must stop!"

"Visiting Joshua Tree was an amazing experience. The park wasn’t too crowded, which made it really pleasant to explore and enjoy the scenery. If you’re planning to stargaze, make sure you don’t go during a full moon — otherwise, you won’t see many stars. We stayed at Ryan Campground, which was fantastic. Just note that fire pits aren’t allowed at the moment due to fire restrictions. Overall, Joshua Tree is a must-visit if you’re traveling through California."

"Joshue Tree is a really good National Park! Something that could be completed in a weekend which is ideal. The surrounding towns are nice with shops. Definitely recommend visiting during fall/winter months for low temperatures while hiking"
