What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve for its beautiful waterfalls and diverse, well-marked trails suitable for all ages and skill levels. It's a highly recommended spot for families and dog owners, offering an accessible escape into nature with hidden gems to discover. Some note that the 'lookout' aspect might not always provide expansive views, but the natural beauty of the falls and forests compensates.
"Lovely place to hike and bike and study plants and fungi. Good for all ages. The falls are beautiful!"
Wendee Theilemann
"Great variety of trails in your backyard (if you live in Sudden Valley ;-), usually not too busy even if the trailhead parking lot is packed, especially on the trails that are for walkers only. The ‘lookout’ part though is mostly in the name. Hard to see the actual lake these days but that’s ok, just setting expectations accordingly. The walk to the falls is a short and easy start but you can expand as you progress. Simply beautiful!"
Roland Vlaicu
"Even on midday Saturday, wasn't too busy. Overall clear trail markers and easy to follow trails. Dog friendly, but they do need to stay leashed (multi-use trails)"
