"We’ve stayed at the Kendall Inn several times over the years, and it’s always been one of our favorite spots — a beautiful historic hotel in a brilliant location right on Main Plaza, just a short walk to Main Street. Unfortunately, our most recent stay was disappointing.
We were first placed in a room above a noisy generator (apparently being repaired), and the floors in both the bedroom and bathroom were noticeably dirty — walking barefoot after a shower left our feet grimy. On top of that, the room was filled with a very strong air freshener. While it smelled pleasant, it felt like they might have been overcompensating with chemicals to cover other odors.
To their credit, the receptionist was very courteous and promptly switched our room when we brought up the issues. Still, the overall experience wasn’t what it used to be. We later learned that the hotel underwent a change in management in 2024, which might explain the difference we experienced. We really hope they can bring back the charm and quality that made this place so special."

While my business associates stayed in the main suites of the Kendall proper, we opted for accommodations in some of the outbuildings. The Waco, a small circa-1850 single-room cabin, was rustic yet refined in its amenities—perfect for me and my son. The Enchanted Cabin, slightly larger than The Waco, continued the theme of posh, rustic ambiance blended with modern comfort.
The crown jewel of the historic accommodations, however, was Saint John's Chapel. Spacious and serene, elegant yet inviting, the restored chapel features a luxurious bath, a dual walk-in shower, a grand king-size bed, and an array of antique, restful furnishings. The vaulted ceiling tops it all off—quite literally. Truly, a one-of-a-kind stay."

"I requested to have an early check in due to my early departure from my home and they stated that it shouldn’t be a problem. Several people in the group I was traveling with got there room several hours early and didn’t request a an early check in.
My room was still not ready at the 4pm check in time I will never stay at this place again no matter how friendly and clean it is and not even one apology from the hotel staff for not meeting my needs or the check in time."
