"Our family of six really loved this little place. Often times, historical villages are made great by their interpreters, and this one was no exception. I wish weβd gotten his name, but he is a recent grad of Appalachian State is now working on his graduate degree in Public History and his passion is clear. I just love it when people find their vocations and live them. This guy is so knowledgeable. I love history and I happen to teach college, and I learned quite a bit from his tour. I highly recommend making a visit here, and then maybe pop over to another local place, maybe Blowing Rock, for a snack or lunch, and hike some trails. Makes for a great day."
