Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking 360-degree views from the observation tower, calling the experience 'fantastic' and 'wonderful.' The challenging but rewarding half-mile paved hike and the potential for unique 'sea of clouds' vistas are frequently highlighted. Some find the drive long and twisty, and parking can be a significant challenge during peak times.

"My husband and I enjoyed our visit to Kuwohi (formerly Clingsman Dome). It was a very crowded, autumn, beautiful Saturday afternoon when we visited in early October. The hike to the top is only a half mile long, but pretty steep. There’s lots of places to rest. The trail is wide and paved to allow handicapped access. There are beautiful views from the parking lot and all the way up. The dome itself was the only part that felt really crammed, despite how busy it was every where."

Kendra Yang

"A nice short, but energetic hike up an inclined paved path to an awesome 360 degree view of the park. Also a great way to tire-out the kids. I'd like to visit again to see the view in every season!"

Martin K Rieman

"Great views! Just don't get caught off guard. It's only .6 miles, but it's straight up. Be in shape, or prepare to make many stops along the way. Paved all the way up and there are benches every so often, but I stopped much more frequently than that lol"
