What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Canyon of the Eagles for its stunning natural beauty, tranquil atmosphere, and exceptional stargazing opportunities at the observatory. The park's location on Lake Buchanan and its potential for a peaceful getaway are frequently highlighted. However, some guests have noted issues with maintenance, particularly in the RV sites and general campground areas, citing overgrown vegetation and the presence of insects.
"This campground was a spiders playhouse; in our room, covering the porch, above the room door, everywhere. Great location and fine amenities, but the lack of a general sweep of all the webs and spiders in our private room, bathroom and porch area made the experience less than desirable. Dining at the restaurant is made almost mandatory by the lack of supplies in your room to have your own meals. Cannot recommend."

"Canyon of the Eagles was our wedding venue this past weekend on 11/15. From the moment we arrived, we felt so extremely well cared for and the entire staff was overly accommodating and made sure we had what we needed the entire time. These wonderful people did their best to provide for us, even on things outside of their promised scope- they went above and beyond! Our wedding could not have occurred in a more peaceful and beautiful location and that day is a day I will cherish for the rest of my life. Angeleigh B. helped get this whole thing together and made the booking and planning process seamless. Shelby C. did an absolute stand up job of pulling our big day off and the staff that helped made me feel like the most important person on earth on such a big day. Jackie especially, she helped me get right down to the aisle and was such a phenomenal and personable person that I truly felt a connection with her. The fact this venue is closing for now is absolutely heartbreaking and we're blessed to have been able to experience one last hurrah before the close date. To everyone who had a hand in it, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!"

"We camped here for 2 nights . The lady at check in was lovely . The campground was very neglected, dead wood and fire ants everywhere especially around our table . Our neighbors complained about an old discarded tent on their site . The campground next to ours had a huge bees nest hanging low and directly above where you pitch a tent . So dangerous for anyone pitching after dark . This location has enormous potential and it seems the quality of the resort has declined drastically. Such a pity because the surrounding lake and wildlife are beautiful. Hopefully LCRA will do a better job when they take over Dec 1st ."
