Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the magical experience of stargazing at the Bare Dark Sky Observatory, highlighting the incredible clarity of the night sky and the impressive telescopes. The knowledgeable and friendly staff, along with the stunning mountain views, contribute to a truly memorable visit. Some guests found the drive up to be a bit challenging due to narrow, winding roads.

"We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Bare Dark Sky Observatory and it was absolutely magical! The setting is truly one-of-a-kind surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the brilliance of the night sky. Both the adults and kids were captivated from start to finish; it was such a unique and memorable way to celebrate together.

Our hosts, Sean and Amanda, went above and beyond to make the evening seamless and special. They were warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating, making sure every detail was perfect. The telescope viewing was a huge hit, and although the moon was too bright to see a lot of stars, we were still able to see the moon itself and Saturn!

It was the perfect mix of fun, wonder, and togetherness with an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a truly extraordinary venue or just want to experience the beauty of the cosmos, we can’t recommend the Bare Dark Sky Observatory enough! Be careful though, as the road up is quite narrow and made some of our out-of-town guests nervous!"

"What an amazing place to stargaze. I just happened to stumble upon this place by accident. Figured I'd hope in the car and drive 2 hours to catch a meter shower, plus it was peak Milky Way season. So I definitely had to go.... I did not regret it, not one bit. My camera wasn't good enough to capture anything. But OMG it was beautiful. 🦈💙"

Jaws Hallman

"We went for their annual star party and loved it. They tell you about some history of astronomy and show you what’s in the sky for that night. We got to see Jupiter, mars, M3 the Orion Nebula, and a few other star clusters. It was really cool to see things through their large telescopes."
