Walk with me to the coffee shop! Burton is bursting with SMALL TOWN CHARM! Where else can you walk past a Mexican restaurant, a stagecoach, historic buildings, a train depot, a bar, post office, Cotton Gin Museum, and old trains!?? My neighbor Bluebonnet Leather Shop is in a historic building too. Stop by Burton for the perfect day of shopping, dining, dancing, strolling and coffee drinking! #sm...

"A total hidden gem that’s absolutely worth a stop—whether you’re in the area or not.

Stormee, our tour guide, was incredibly kind and brought the history to life with stories and insight that made the experience unforgettable. It’s a rare chance to see the oldest operating cotton gin in America, and the whole visit feels like stepping back in time."

Jessika Cantu

"The staff is extremely accommodating. They are knowledgeable and friendly. The museum packs a lot into the space. It has three distinct sections--the history of Hunt County and life in the late 19th and early 20th century; the Cotton Industry in Hunt County; finally, is the military section and Audie Murphy. The history continues outside. Make sure to check out the Veterans Memorial on your way out. You can go through the museum in an hour, but if you want to read and experience the location I would say give yourself at least three hours."

Julie Weston

"A lovely little free museum to visit while in the area. We were passing through and had a quick stop. There's a very informative video to watch and a small room with things to read and samples of cotton."
