Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Arch Rock's unique geological beauty and the fun of scrambling over boulders, calling it a favorite spot. While the hike is easy, some find the trail marking less clear than expected and note that it can get crowded, requiring patience for photos. The surrounding rock formations are also a significant draw for exploration.
"Super easy hike for all ages and abilities. Right up to view of the arch. To actually climb up to stand under it it’s not too difficult, but take your time and wear good shoes that grip.
Take time to hike around the backside there are some very impressive structures!"

"This was one of my favorite places at Joshua tree national park. It was a drive maybe about an hour from the north entrance. The drive was amazing and full of different places to hike and stop by. When you get there there’s a parking lot and you will have to cross the road to start the hike. The trail is well marked and as you get closer to the end of the trail you will keep walking and find some steps that lead to the arch. It does get a little crowded and you might have to wait a bit to get a good picture of the arch but it’s so well worth the wait. The climb to the arch is a little steep so be careful walking up the rocks. When we headed back there were rangers a couple of rangers offering cold water refills and that made our hike because it was pretty hot out."

"The picture of the rock is cool and all but I definitely enjoyed climbing and zigzagging through the boulders that were all over. It was like exploring a natural maze. Very easy to do but some spots were tighter than others so just be safe. We had a 3yr old with us and it was her favorite part. She did come out with a few scratches but she'll be fine. Kids are strong and recover quickly. It was also my favorite part of Joshua tree. Climbing through these is a great excuse to be a kid again. Also be mindful of the tortoises"
