Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Goddard Mansion Ruins to be a picturesque and historically interesting site within Fort Williams Park. The late afternoon lighting is frequently praised for photography, and the proximity to the lighthouse and abandoned bunker adds to the appeal. Some visitors express a desire to access the interior, but most appreciate the atmospheric ruins and the overall park experience.

"We visited on a Saturday afternoon in mid-June 2025.

Finding parking was a little rough. There were a number of extra spots on grass and in the Fort William Parade Grounds field with sun and no shade. But if you wanted a decent spot closer to water or on more compact surface it was difficult to find. We did find a great spot up on hill by the public bathroom (porta johns). It was a great spot because there is a pavilion right up top that's great for picnicking.

We hiked to the Goddard Mansion last after exploring everything else. The lighting was perfect through the trees in the late afternoon. We entered from the back side coming from the Abandoned Fort Williams Bunker. There are trails back there and it looked so cool with the light. We took a number of photos and most people didn't really care. It looked like most hiked on the more formal trail to the front side. The mansion interior is fenced off but it was still really cool. I think we timed it just right for photos here. Also there weren't very many people interested in it. Looks like most wanted to see the abandoned bunker and then headed back.

We would definitely come back to visit this mansion to explore it a bit more and see how it looks in other lighting conditions. We had a lot of fun doing photography here."

"Fantastic old building, a great piece of history. You can't go inside, there is a fence around the entrances, but windows and doors are missing, so you can see inside and feel how huge the mansion was. It's hard to imagine! Loved wandering around the area and standing in the ocean nearby."
