"This park is in the worst location possible. It’s sandwiched between an interstate and a very active railroad. Not only a railroad but also a railroad crossing so you hear the very loud train blow the horn 3-4 times when it passes by. How many times does it pass by you ask? Multiple times an hour and that’s 24/7. My rv was backed up to the interstate so between the heavy traffic, tractor trailers, motorcycles, etc. and the train, I didn’t sleep the 3 nights I was there. I sleep with a box fan next to my head but it was no match for this noise level. I felt bad for the people in tents. Also, there’s no tent area so tons of tents next to rv’s which is annoying due to noise. But hey, the train and traffic will pretty much drown out people noise anyway at this campground. The website states certain sites will hear the trains more. Rest assured EVERY site hears it loud and clear. The north loop is just a small circle and there are no quiet sites. Sure, there’s a lake and people seem to go for kite surfing. Get a day pass and do that if that’s your thing. I’d never recommend anyone to actually camp here."

"Viento State Park was an easy place to stop with the camper trailer with a day use option for those who don't wish to stay the night. Located about 45 minutes East of Portland, this park is located right off of Interstate 84. We purchased the annual pass for Oregon state parks, which is only $20 more than the day pass. We stopped by the pay station and used the envelope to show we paid for the pass and placed it in our window. The water access was so close to the parking, and I made lunch while the family enjoyed being down by the water. There was a bathroom 🚻 by the parking as well, and the campground seemed to be loved by locals, and we plan to visit again soon."

They have clean restrooms and showers. Plus, plenty of spots for all your camping needs. Whether you prefer to bring your RV's or a simple tent, they provide a safe and clean campground with all the accommodations you'd expect. The prices are very affordable and you can book in advance.
