What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Beartrap Meadow County Park for its quiet, secluded campsites and clean, well-maintained trails. The cool mountain air and proximity to Casper are significant draws. However, the recent removal of water availability at the campground requires visitors to be more self-sufficient, and the online reservation system can be challenging on mobile devices.
"Loved it! Very quiet campsite, but there was still snow on the ground, so not many people were camping. The trails were also very nice with a distinct lack of trash. Saw some mountain lion tracks, but that's expected because it's in the mountains. The campsites all have picnic tables and fire pits. All in all, it's a beautiful park that I will be visiting quite often."

"A great place to spend the day or camp for up to 10 days. Lots of improvements made this year, including better and more camp sites. One notable negative this year, is that water is no longer available. So you have to haul your own up Casper mountain."
Tom Elliott
"The website to reserve a site doesn't work well on the phone. Use desktop mode if you don't have a PC available. Other than that the place was full but the sites are spaced so you have plenty of room to yourself. Vault toilets new and clean. The park is patrolled. Do not attempt to come last minute and expect to sneak into a site. Those days are gone. Fun time all around. Lots of hiking and what not."
