"Good displays for such a small museum. Ironic to find a display with Hawkinsville (where I live) listed (a hole in the wall at another)! If your visiting Cedar Key, you should definitely visit here and the other museum on the island."
Jennifer Head
"Someone took a lot of time and effort to document the history of cedar key. We greatly appreciated all the documents, artifacts and photos. Well worth the $3 admission price."

"Cedar Key, Florida Historical Society was established in 1977 by a group of citizens dedicated to preserving the long and rich history of Cedar Key.
Our time here was educational as the area progressed and changed over time to what it is today. Depictions of yesteryear, are inside a few dioramas some incredible models of ships, fishing boats, sponge boats, the railroad through Cedar Key and the lighthouse. Another display shows that Cedar pencils and whisk brooms were huge industries in Cedar Key.
We learned so much that we did not know previously. I would recommend this to be your first stop, as we looked at every thing differently after the knowledge of historical Cedar Key."
