"Peak Aspen last weekend. Great place to do some hiking...I recommend the mesa lakes hikes to start yourself off in the area! If you don't bring $8 dollars to get in, you can park before entering but need to walk an extra half a mile in."

"Very nice ride through this area at the end of August. Island Lake was gorgeous. We did not explore any more than the road but if we are ever in this area again we will check them out!"
Jenny Unternahrer
"What a contrast to Colorado National Monument! We did both drives in one day. Whereas it was 90+ in the monument, it was chilly with snow piles at Grand Mesa. We enjoyed the hike by the visitor center as well as Land-o-Lakes, and the Lands End area, where little ground squirrels will come right up to your hands. I'd recommend taking sunflower seeds along for that fun experience. We saw marmots and deer. It was lovely."
