Arizona (Valley Area) Skaters: Good Outdoor Spots for a Beginner?
Hi! I live in Mesa, willing to travel to Phoenix, Gilbert, Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale and surrounding areas and I’m looking for a good place to outdoor skate. I’m a super newbie who just got some Radar Energy 57s and I really want to get better at skating outdoors but I’m…

Is there any good spots around to rollerblade as a beginner?
I am very VERY new to rollerblading and im looking for places around Chandler to practice!
Does anyone skate at night?
Its already above 100F here in Phoenix, which means most of my summer skating will be at night. I'm sure I'm not the only one who lives on the sun 😂 Tips? What gear to you use to stay visible/see where you're going?

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Chandler Skate Park Snedigar are mixed, with many praising the friendly community and the large bowl for experienced skaters. However, some find the park dated and lacking features for street skating, with concerns about safety due to the bowl's design and the presence of young children. The nearby playground is a definite plus for families.
"Great place for my kids to practice. There is also a nice playground nearby. Not too busy in the morning, but picks up around lunchtime. All the experienced skaters were nice to my kids and helpful. Its good to be in a community like Chandler!"

"The park is 23 years old, a little dated, but still in pretty good condition. I am a vert skater, so the large bowl is not as big of transition as I would like. It’s maybe 9 foot transition with 1 foot vert.

"I’ve reviewed most skate parks in Phoenix and this is by far the absolute worst one. Zero doubt. We have five star reviews from oblivious parents and really old vert skaters, that’s how you know this place sucks.
The bowl is massive and will only appeal to experienced vert skaters. There are basically no features here for street skating. The entire park itself is just one giant bowl with steeper ramps than almost every other park in the city.
Since the inside of the bowl is just a big flat area, children become moving death traps. Since you can only gain an incredible amount of speed dropping in, and there are no other places for people to skate other than inside the bowl, it becomes frustrating and dangerous. Look at the other reviews here. They have small children without any situational awareness skating right in front of where you drop in.
This forces one of two things. Either the parents must educate themselves to place their children in a better environment (won’t happen), or you learn to be the car in frogger hoping you don’t squish whatever oblivious speed bump is in front of you.
This park is really old and you can tell in the design. Most older parks in the city did little to no consulting with area skaters when they were built and thus have features that apply to only a small subset of those with experience.
Stay away from this one at all costs."
