Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the spacious campgrounds, beautiful scenery, and the tranquility of Jim Edgar Panther Creek. Many highlight the excellent stargazing opportunities and the chance to see wildlife. Some minor issues include potential insect presence in summer and the need for advance booking for specific campsite amenities.

"Stayed at the Panther Creek campground which was very nice and spacious with electric boxes at the sites. You can register online or thru the toll free # and for $20 (plus a $6 fee added on) you can stay there. You can purchase a bundle of firewood for $5 as well. The park itself is spacious with little parking areas along the way that you can stop in to take in the beautiful scenery. Hope to come back here again and again."

"My Husband and I chose to do Primitive Camping this August -2024
We chose Camp site #4...(there are no vehicles permitted on the grounds, so we used a Deer Cart to load all of our items, me pulling our cooler on wheels) We did it in one trip!
We had the place to ourselves, listening to owls & the crackling of our fire. Grounds are Very Well maintained! Bathroom nearby, and there are showers/bathrooms at the RV park, a quick 2 minute drive ! Very Nice!
We hiked with our two pups along the manicured pathway, so beautiful, butterflies and wildlife all around!
We will definitely be back!! 🏕️"

"I’ve been to this park a few times over the years. Each time I was there to hike. My most recent trip in late July, a friend and I were there to hike, take photos, and locate some sunflower fields.

I’ve been here in early summer and dealt with some seriously large gnats but it wasn’t bad enough to deter me or whomever joined me.
As I stated, the trip 2 weeks ago was to locate sunflower fields to frolic through 😂. It was honestly an adventure finding them and we almost gave up! I believe if you go anytime in late July through early August you will in luck and able to enjoy the gorgeous fields. I saw on someone else’s post that there are 6 fields but we were running out of daylight and only hit two. One on Creek Road in between Gurney and Country road 11. The other was on Sittler road. Both were nice but the one on Creek Road had some gorgeous rolling hills that made it even better."
