It's a labor of love, so volunteers keep the place open, so MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE TIMES/SEASON they're open! Not handicap accessible, and you'll need about 30 min. Great stop and worth a visit! This place is a chilled-out caboose paradise, the undisputed champion of climate-controlled cabooses on this or any other continent.
But the real treasures aren’t the air-conditioned rolling stock. No, the real stars of the show are the volunteers. They know every nook and cranny of these historic cars and can spin a yarn about them like nobody’s business. Plus, they’re incredibly knowledgeable about Chillicothe itself. They gave us a whole itinerary of other cool spots to check out, turning our visit into a full-blown adventure.
