Reviews Summary
The Ross County Courthouse is widely praised for its stunning Beaux-Arts architecture and historical significance as Ohio's first statehouse. However, some visitors report negative experiences with rude staff and bureaucratic inefficiencies when conducting official business. The building's exterior is a definite highlight, but internal experiences can be mixed.
"This was the first statehouse in Ohio and erected in 1801. Not sure about the contents, but the architecture is stunning. However the columns need some repairs at the main entrance.
I found the doors individually named for what you needed interesting. It must have been easy to get to the right official back in the day."

"This is the most corrupt court in Ohio. My mom passed away and when we went into court for my moms estate Benson gave my sister who admittedly stated under oath that she was a herion addict and had a criminal history and filed the wrong surety bond the right to adminster my moms estate. This court is very biased and a complaint has been filed with the Ohio Supreme Court against Mr Benson. Stay far far away."

"The staff is rude and disrespectful. Even though I was there as a witness for a trial, they treated me like I wasn't welcome. No refreshments. Then when I got up to look for refreshments the security guard deputy confronted me. That's the only reason we knew it was ok to leave because they forgot to dismiss us when they dismissed the jury. Won't be a return customer."
