Planning on rocking Rt 12 from Lolo, Montana to Lewiston (so many twisties!) for my birthday. Any been out here/provide recommendations?
This is a super fun ride. Check out chief Timothy Park just outside Clarkston. It's an awesome campground on the snake River, or IN the river because it is an island. I live in Spokane now and last week our local Facebook groups had an alert up. A very experienced Rider gotโฆ

Enjoy the Fruit Trees
The park boasts numerous fruit trees. Enjoy the bounty, but be aware of seasonal ripeness. :apple:
Campgrounds with showers
Hi! I use recreation.gov to book all my campsites, but for whatever reason, they don't have information on whether the sites have showers or not. Maybe none of them around Spokane do? Although that seems kinda unlikely. So my question, does anyone know of any dog friendlyโฆ

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Chief Timothy State Park is highly recommended for its family-friendly atmosphere, beautiful waterfront camping, and helpful staff. Visitors enjoy the spacious grounds, swimming area, and scenic island trail. However, some guests have noted issues with bees and potholes, and advise caution regarding summer water quality.
"We had our family reunion here and had a blast. We booked 5 rv spots face the water and all 4 cabins. Lots of space for kids to run and for our 30 + group to spread out.
Staff were extremely helpful and always willing to assist.
Had an issue with bathrooms and staff quickly took care of it after I notified. Spiders were prominent and while they were harmless they were a bit of a nuisance having to clear off rvs. Staff did address them when notified.
Highly recommend this place."

"It's wonderful if there wasn't bees and potholes galore. 4 of us got stung at least once and we couldn't even enjoy meals because of them. And one of my twins hurt his leg falling into a waist deep pot hole with not cone or warning or anything. The swimming area however was a lot of fun and fruit trees everywhere"

"We are here in the spring and have the whole place to ourselves, which is wonderful. There are over fifty sites plus four cute little cabins to rent. There is one long paved road with pullthroughs on each side. There are water, sewer, and electric hookups. There are lots of deciduous trees by the RV sites, which are probably great in the middle of summer. There is a lot of grass and a playground for children. There's a great big beach, but after reading about water quality in the summer here, especially when the water heats up, I would not choose to swim. Although kayaking or boating would be great. There is a trail that goes around the whole island that is a couple of miles. We enjoyed a sunset walk and pondered why there are not some sites on the other side of the island that have nice elevated views and aren't highly trafficked like the side with the RV sites. Something else that we thought could improve is the slash piles all over the island. Apparently, they dump the debris from the RV sites over there and just leave them in giant piles. It's too bad they don't burn them or dispose of them somehow so that the natural beauty of the island could exist. So, would I come here again? It's pretty nice having it all to ourselves, but I probably would not find it as appealing with every sight full. I do like seeing new places, though, so I recommend it if you like to explore. We actually had an owl and two baby owlets in a tree right above our site, which is super neat."
