What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Babcock State Park's beauty and tranquility, particularly the iconic Glade Creek Grist Mill. The park offers a peaceful escape with well-maintained hiking trails suitable for various levels. While cabin stays are generally positive, be prepared for steep stair access to some units.
"I am not a camping type girl. I love hotels with amenities and I enjoy having a TV, that being said...this was one of my favorite vacations to simply recharge and "be". The park itself is beautiful. Laid out very nicely with hiking for all levels. The paths were clearly marked and some of the views were breathtaking. We stayed in Cabin 3 which I believe has the most steps to get to...65! Its not for the faint of heart or the heavy packer!! The Cabin was super clean and stocked with everything you'd need for a pleasant stay. Wood was stacked nearby if needed and they even brought us towels since we stayed more than 2 nights. A hidden gem when looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just hike and listen to river. 5 star all the way!"

"I've wanted to come here for years. On one of huddy and i's trips this summer in the Summersville area my husband surprised me with coming to this park. We're checking off waterfalls in west virginia. There were 2 here that we needed. So we got to do that. Of course buy stuff at the gift shop. Take a couple pictures at the west virginia swing. It was the 1st swing we've gotten to do that. So that was awesome! We took pictures of the Glade Creek Grist Mill. It's just as beautiful in person as I've seen online. I was so happy that I was seeing it in person! We looked around in the mill. It was really neat! We want to come back and do some hiking. I'll be sure to update my post when we do."

"We saw some beautiful photos for the Babcock State Park during fall foliage, so we planned for the visit. It’s definitely a beautiful and tranquil park. We didn’t particularly go on any hiking trails and would love to explore in the future. However, just simply a short walk from the parking lot to see the mill is already a great experience."
