What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the National Capital Trolley Museum for its fun trolley rides and extensive collection of historic streetcars. The passionate volunteers are a major asset, sharing valuable insights. While some exhibits could be enhanced with more accessible information, the overall experience is highly enjoyable and nostalgic, especially for those with a connection to DC's transit history.
"Well, these so much fun! The trolls were amazing although to be honest, the exhibits could be better. I think if they focus more on providing quick accessible placards as opposed to more in-depth writings, they could appeal to a wider audience. Overall, a fantastic museum and such a fun place to hang out. You can tell the volunteers are so interested in the topic and they have so much great information to share."

"It was a little smaller than I was expecting, but it was a great afternoon learning about trolley and street cars from the DC Metro area. I took my 95yo Father who rode the streetcars in his day, and he enjoyed the nostalgia. I ended up buying several books containing many photos of DC streetcars from back in the day, and my Dad spent hours reading and reminiscing of days gone past. The trolley rides were especially fun. A little tough for my Dad to climb into because accessibility wasn't a thing when they built the above ground tracks, but the conductors were patient and had a step for him to get in and out. He did well because he's mobile. I'm not sure they would have been able to accommodate him if he was in a wheelchair, but I didn't inquire either. Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon."

"Cute little museum with the local trolley history. My son enjoyed playing with the kid friendly train set and the trolley ride. Lots of history to learn about. Trolley rides every hour."
