"I showed up as this place was closing. The woman running it took pity and let me look around while she shut down - extremely kind of her. She has worked on bringing this home and the story of this family into the light. It is a wonderful telling of a black family who lived here. She has worked extremely hard to know more about the families and the people who lived here. I could tell her effort in this project as she told me stories about a black woman suing and another who trained to be a teacher. I'm grateful she let me look around."

They have very friendly staff who are always happy to share their knowledge, and walk you through the different timeline posters, pictures, letters and more. Definitely a must see.
