Has anyone done primitive camping at the Daweson Forest City of Atlanta Tract?
Looks like a great spot to to do primitive/disbursed camping. Am I allowed to drive in and find a spot or do I have to park and hike? Is it even allowed? If so, would anyone like to trade camping spots? I have a few good primitive camping spots in Dahlonega and Tullulah…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dawson Forest WMA is praised for its vast natural beauty, offering diverse outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and off-roading. Visitors appreciate the abundant wildlife and the peaceful atmosphere of the Etowah River. However, some note concerns about river cleanliness and the presence of spiders.
"It's a great river to kayak! Highly recommend.
1. Water is moving at a good speed. Not too fast, not too slow. Just the right speed for people to move forward and enjoy the scenery at the same time.
2. Enough shades by trees that you dont need sunscreen. I forgot to out on sunscreen and I was worried bc thats one of the most crucial part when ur kayaking. But, they had enough trees that covers the river trail most of the time.
3. Very quiet and calm river...
Two things I didnt like about it.
1. River doesn't seem to be clean.
2. Spiders. If you dont like them, dont go near the sides, or branches that are sticking out from the sides."

Check out the group on FB for more trips. Amazing experience with great friends! Side notes, don’t trash this place. If you pack it in, pack it out. Always wear a life jacket on the river."
