What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Deer Creek Tribute Trail for its beautiful creek access, well-maintained paths, and the fun, bouncy suspension bridge. It's a convenient and enjoyable hike close to Nevada City, suitable for a quick visit or a longer exploration. Some find parking a bit confusing, and the narrowness of some trails requires single-file walking.
"Great trail through Nevada City. Easy to hike with some steep sections. Access to the creek and suspension bridge. You can park and see the bridge in 20 mintues or hike the entire trail in about an hour to hiur and a half."

"Reasonably moderate hike with some upward and downward elevation changes. Main thing to watch out for is the bridge. Everyone likes to have fun, but remember that safety comes first. Anyone can fall of the bridge here, it is a suspension bridge. But it is quite safe nonetheless.
Can be completed in a morning or an afternoon. Good with friends or alone. There are some quiet spots to sit. Very close to city center for post hike grub. Great hike!"

"To celebrate our anniversary, the wife chose Nevada City and hiking. I am not a hiker. I do it because I want to support her and it's good for my health. I never regret it but I would seldom choose it as an activity for myself unless I needed to train for a bigger hike (Halfdome).
When you get there, parking may be a bit confusing. There are some signs that say no parking Anytime and then some that say no parking between certain hours. Respect that and don't get them confused and when you park, park in the dirt and not on the pavement.
Once you get to the trailheads you will find that the hike is beautiful. Near the river and nicely maintained paths, albeit a bit narrow so single file not side by side for most of it, with switchbacks and varying elevations that dip up and go down throughout the hike. There a beautiful suspended bridge that bounces as you walk and my wife found it to be "very exciting". I just thought it was neat. DIfferent trails all over the place for you to explore, moderate to low difficulty at most.
On this day 2/28/25 it was beautiful near perfect weather for a hike. Glorious."
