What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pioneer Park Nevada City is a highly regarded local gem, praised for its diverse amenities including sports facilities, a summer pool, and event spaces. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty, shaded walkways, and the community atmosphere during events. Some concerns have been raised about creek water quality and occasional issues with pet waste, but overall it's considered a top-tier park.
"Its a great spot to walk through nature and enjoy the scenery of Nevada city forest. Alot of shade and hilly areas to walk the dog. There's a baseball field and alot of activities the happen here. We were sad to see high levels of bacteria in the creek and water with advisories posted not to let dogs or kids play, but I think the restrictions have been lifted. Alot of people let the dogs run and play off leash out on the field"

"A great place to hang out, host events, play sports and more. There is a public pool that's open during the summer. A creek runs through the lower side of the park. It's a peaceful spot to relax and listen to the water. There are restrooms for public use. It is a dog friendly park, but please clean up after your pooches! I've stepped in poop too many times in the field."

"I go to Pioneer Park with my dog nearly every day and it always makes my dog and I happy. We meet nice people (though always a grouchy person once in a while). There are herbs like plantain and self heal mixed in with the grass. The creek can get dirty, but we love that gentle stream. I really can't think of a better park in all the parks I've been to in California."
