"We were at coast guard beach on the eastern shore of the cape and I had told wife that I wanted to film the sunset but you don’t get the sunset I was looking for from a east facing beach. So we were very pleasantly surprised to find the hidden gem called “1st Encounter Beach”. Apparently it’s where the mayflower had made 1st contact with the native inhabitants, there’s a plaque there or memorial stone but it seemed all worn and illegible. But the beach is small and has a perfect view of the setting sun over the water. Small parking lot. It’s one of those beaches that’s great for young kids. You can go like a quarter + mile out and usually depending on the tide only be up to your waist. No waves very gentle. Low tide is recommended. Check it out but don’t tell tooo many people. Check out some pictures and videos"

"I added this 300-year old historical landmark into Google Maps years ago. I also updated photos and the video of the walk up the hill/dune to see the plaque. 💥The city of Eastham should clear the brush and make visiting this plaque easier. Seems there's poison ivy up this hill.💥"
