What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the UTRGV Planetarium for its free admission and engaging, educational shows, making it a great outing for young children. The unique dome experience and friendly staff are frequently highlighted positives. However, some find the planetarium difficult to locate on campus and note that parking may require extra steps.
"1st I want to say that the Planetarium is located within the square of the Science building (#31 on UTRGV's map). Basically the Science buildings make a square shape around the Planetarium (mostly round building).
Which I wish I had known sooner since we spent 40 minutes walking around the campus looking for it.
My daughter showed interest in space so I decided to take my toddlers (3 & 4) and we had a good time. They had a hard time keeping still throughout the whole video but liked it and we plan to come back.
The waiting area is pretty small and there isn't much to do while waiting but luckily we were mostly the only ones there this day, so we didn't wait long."

"We were visiting for spring break & husband working down here. Wanted to do some educational fun with my son. Found this place kind of by accident but it was so cool. It’s a little difficult to find cause it’s on the grounds of the UT RGV & I didn’t know you had to request a parking pass from another building. But once we got there the ladies there were so nice. Place was super clean. The best part it was just my son & I in the planetarium. Also it’s free! Nice place to take the kids."

"It's an educational, and comfortable experience. The 360° projector used is a nice piece of equipment, and the building itself stands out with the dome built around the projecting room."
