Reviews Summary

Guests love the 1905 Basin Park Hotel for its unbeatable downtown location, historic charm, and lively atmosphere, especially with live music and the unique speakeasy bar. The friendly staff and spa services are also frequently praised. However, some find the hotel's age means it could use a refresh, with occasional cleanliness concerns and a lack of early morning coffee options. TikTokReddit

"We've stayed at the Basin numerous times. The history of the hotel is amazing. The hotel is the hub of downtown. Hotel staff have been friendly and helpful. Shuttle for parking is good, during operating hours. Restaurants and bar are really good. It is a very old hotel and is charming. Don't expect brand new anything, anywhere. If you want coffee, forget about it. Unless you want to wait until the sun has been up for 3 hours. Shops around hotel don't open until 9/10am. So if you want breakfast or coffee, you must leave the hotel, walk a mile to your vehicle(shuttle service starts at 7am), and drive somewhere to find a restaurant or coffee shop. Come back to hotel parking lot, walk another mile up the mountain, and back to the hotel. The good thing about this town is there are plenty of places to stay, choose wisely."

"The price was right for the location and the chance to stay in a hotel that is rumored to be one of the most haunted places in the US was too good to pass up. The room was small, but to be expected with an older hotel. Small refrigerator and a good place to hang our riding gear were both pleasant surprises, as was the protected storage area for our motorcycle (AKA bike jail). Like many older hotels, the place could use a little sprucing up here and there however, including a good deep clean. The paint job was atrocious and we noticed missing paint in some places while it was noticeably slopped all over the lighting fixtures in other spots. The bathroom had a nice jetted tub but we didn't use it as it looked like it had been a while since it had a good cleaning. (There were noticeable amounts of pink bacteria built up in the water inlet.) We also noticed some stray hairs from shaving around the sink area left behind by a previous guest. It wasn't a huge deal, but kind of makes you wonder what else they didn't clean after the last guest left. Staff was super friendly, and having a game room as an optional hang out in case of rainy weather was a great bonus. We did some exploring around the building, including wandering up to the top floor where we saw a creepy old doll in the middle of the room. It was an excellent touch that added to the hotel's spooky vibe. All in all we probably won't be staying here again, but are glad we gave it a try at least once."

"This place has everything you need for a great stay! The location is excellent with it being right in the middle of shops and restaurants, but if you don’t want to leave the hotel, that’s an option too. It has a restaurant, a bar, a game room and a spa.
This is a very old building and you have to understand that when booking. Some spaces are a little tight (like the stairway, elevator and closets), the floors creak and there isn’t any counter space in the bathroom, BUT that’s what you should expect in a historic hotel like this.
The service was excellent! From the shuttle driver, to the concierge-Michael, to the restaurant staff, everyone was pleasant and friendly."
