Visiting the Everglades in August for a couple days and have a few questions.

Driving through the park from the east to the west and want to see as much as I can plus an airboat tour. Any buddy have any ideas or suggestions? Also I heard you don’t need to really prebook the airboat tours as there are lots of providers. Idk what I’m doing. Anything help.

Looking for suggestions for a one day trip to the Everglades for a first timer.

I’m going to take a one day trip and visit the Shark Valley Observation Tower. Does anyone have any suggestions on other must see locations nearby? Thanks in advance!

Staying in Everglades City- enough to do/see in the national park?

Hello, I was wondering if I stayed in the Everglades city for a long weekend trip, is there enough to do/see in the Everglades national park? The east side of the park seems to have more, but my partner and I would prefer to stay on the west side because it’s way closer to us…

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Museum of the Everglades for its free admission, wealth of detailed information, and the exceptional knowledge of its staff. Many highlight the engaging rotating exhibits, particularly those focusing on local issues like the python invasion. While small, the museum is considered a valuable and informative stop for anyone interested in the history and culture of the Everglades.

"Great detailed information and the guy at the front really knew his stuff that he shared how the snake exhibit was curated. The special front room exhibit is replaced every 4 months or so. (January should be Randy White focused).
Won’t take too long if you are in a hurry but seeing the photos of the building process is impressive - 1.3M sticks of dynamite!
Free admission and easy parking."

"A small but very impressive display of the history of the Everglades area and the building where this museum is located. The revolving display at the time of our visit was the invasive python that number in the 100's of thousands. The gentleman at the desk was very knowledgeable and talked to us at length about the pythons in Florida and the constant effort by the python hunters to track and eliminate this invasive spiece that decimates native wildlife all over Florida."

Phil Vania

"Not knowing what to expect at such a small venue, we were very surprised at how much history is packed into this place. The gentleman at the front desk was very informative and seemed to really want to answer any and all our questions.
They seem to have rotating exhibits up front. During our visit, it was an everglades Python invasion exhibit. It features a local Python hunter, Wildman Dusty, who also has a pizza restaurant in town. Everywhere else is everything everglades. Including movies filmed in the glades. We enjoyed our visit and it's free. Yet they do have a donation box."
