"The history rich area is very important and special to the state and the downtown. The states first cross state railroad lines is very important for trade and transportation. Try and imagine a week on horse back or a day on the train. Leaders like Mr Yulee who risked his own financial ruin even with land grants he still had to come up with the money to build a huge railway undertaking. Take time to enjoy and learn about the history of our great state."

"Great welcome center with lovely ladies inside to greet you! Both were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area, they had free stickers to give out, brochures and maps for everything to do in Amelia Island! Public restrooms nearby and plenty of parking as well. Had a few historic signs that gave some background to the area - highly recommended!"
