What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Gamble Rogers for its stunning beach access and excellent camping options, particularly the proximity to the ocean. The helpful staff and availability of water activities like kayaking and boating are frequently praised. Some find the beachside campsites small and note limited shade at riverside sites, and morning bathroom closures can be an inconvenience for some.
"Amazing place to camp! The beachside sites are small and tight, but you are quite literally steps from a beautiful beach. Great sunrises, beautiful moon rises, and even got to see a spacex launch. Lots of great places to pop into for a quick bite when we didn't feel like cooking. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. We really enjoyed this state park!"
Michele Guidicessi
"The park features a charming little boat ramp, perfect for launching your watercraft. Nearby, you'll find several covered picnic pavilions where families and friends can gather and enjoy meals together. The area is alive with the sight of fish leaping joyfully from the water, adding a dynamic touch to the serene landscape. This delightful park offers a wonderful blend of recreation and relaxation, making it a fantastic spot for outdoor enthusiasts."
George “ThingamaGeorge”
"This campground is a good option for RVs and travel trailers, offering adequate space, though the limited tree coverage can make it uncomfortable during summer months. The site is split between a small area directly on the ocean and an interior section, where we stayed.
While the overall experience was decent, the tent sites are quite small, and the bathroom closures from 6:00 to 9:00 AM for cleaning were inconvenient—comparable to a diner closing at peak lunch hours. On the positive side, the campground provides excellent access to the water and is well-maintained.
While it may not be at the top of my camping list, others might appreciate features I didn’t fully explore."
