"I was surprised to find this beautiful church had a little piece of history attached! The area is ripe with its past, so I should have expected it.
This Church and graveyard ( did you know that a cemetery is not attached to a church) are easy to find and has plenty of parking, this was on a weekday, Sunday???
The church itself is a piece of art!! The breathtaking woodwork alone is worth the trip! The organ pipes and stained glass are gorgeous!! I wish I could have heard the organ played.. There was a sense of peace.
The graveyard is in levels, stairs are easy to navigate.
Many headstones of people who died in the Civil War. No note to tell which side they fought, does it matter now?
There are a hundred crosses in an area with a plaque that states they are for the slaves and freemen and families who where buried here without headstones..
The day trip was extremely educational and emotional..
I would not have missed it!"

"Such a lovely setting. Peaceful. Beautiful church. The cemetery actually has an area dedicate to the Black slaves the lived and died in the area, very unique site."

"I worshiped in the 8:45 service this morning and was blessed. Faithful preaching from Fr. Askew, great hymns, so many welcoming people, and evidence of a wide and deep ministry. Will be my church when visiting the Blue Ridge from now on."
