What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Burger's Lake as a charming, family-friendly spot with ample shade and a welcoming atmosphere. Many appreciate the ability to bring their own food and the presence of lifeguards. However, some find the restrictions for non-swimmers in deeper areas disappointing, and it can get quite crowded on peak days.
"It’s a quaint, cute, family oriented little place, there are beautiful, large trees with shade and picnic tables, the staff at the entrance and at the gift shop are really welcoming. You can take your food, there are grills, and they also sell food with many choices. There are more than enough bathrooms, the lake is small, but we went on a weekday, so it was peaceful and pleasant. We saw a deer, raccoons and many birds. I would go again and do recommend it. God bless!"

"Took my son and two of his friends as a last minute trip for the summer. One friend will be moving out of the country in Aug with his family so we wanted to do something fun but still family friendly. A friend told us about this place and it didn’t disappoint. Suggestions bring a chair with you, either to lounge or to sit. If it’s crowded there is not a lot of options other than picnic tables, bring a lunch/cooler, but there is a lunch available for a price, get there early so you have first option at the location you will be sitting/camping all day. There are life guards on duty and they do a great job. Highly recommend this place. Short drive from my home in Abilene to Fort Worth so it made the boys feel like we were doing something different and special."

"A cool place to hangout with friends in the summer with water activities.
🛝 The place has got good activities for kids and elders
🍺 🚫This is a no-alcohol zone. They have a cop 👮🏽 to go through the trunk in the car and make sure you don’t carry any.
🛟 They don’t allow non-swimmers in the 20ft deep zone even if you have your life jackets on. This was a disappointment. In Lake Murray (Oklahoma) we did similar activities with life jackets. So if you are a non-swimmer you can experience the slides but not the diving boards and the giant swings
🌊 This is not a natural lake. They have artificially created this and recycling is done.
Overall a good place to hangout with friends , families and kids. It’s an advantage if you are a swimmer."
