Anything neat to check out or do in Foster City?
I've never been, but I've heard it's kind of a cool place to live because it's kind of like a marina of houses. Any parks or restaurants, pretty much anything of the slightest to do here if I pass on by? Thanks!
Thoughts on foster city?
Thinking about moving to foster city from Palo Alto. Currently in a 2b1b ($3100) with my partner. We really want a single family home in the peninsula but we’re also looking at renting a townhome in foster city (~$4200). I was wondering how people like foster city and if there’s…

Places to read/relax by running water?
OK, very basic question. Is there anywhere in the Bay Area that you would suggest, preferably in Santa Clara County, where you can sit and relax by a stream, brook, creek, fountain, etc.? Can be natural running water, or artificial. I know there are streams on lots of trails,…

Visitors consistently praise Foster City Lagoon, particularly Leo J. Ryan Memorial Park, for its beautiful water views, ample green space, and relaxing atmosphere. The park is noted for being well-maintained and family-friendly, with convenient amenities and a lively community feel during events. Some minor issues with bird droppings were mentioned, but overall, the experience is highly positive.
"Another great day at Leo J. Ryan Memorial Park!
We had a wonderful time exploring the park with our fur baby (a Pomeranian), who absolutely loved the grass and the fresh scent from Central Lake. The open space, fresh air, and beautiful greenery are so relaxing and soothing to the eyes.
A few areas weren’t very clean due to bird droppings, but overall the park is well-kept. Most dogs were leashed, which made it easy to enjoy our walk. The location is also very convenient—right across from stores and a pharmacy. Parking is available along the side street and there’s also plenty near the shops.
Don’t forget to snap a photo with the big red heart—it’s a fun spot for pictures! ❤️"

"The marina park(Leo J. Ryan) is such a lovely spot clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. It’s right along the lagoon, so the water views are amazing, especially on a sunny day.
There are paved paths perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, and plenty of open grassy areas for picnics or just relaxing. The park also has a nice mix of playgrounds, benches, and shaded spots, making it great for families or anyone looking to enjoy some fresh air. It’s peaceful but still lively, with people kayaking, walking their dogs, or just enjoying the scenery. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back a perfect place to unwind and take in the views!"

"Lovely place to relax. Good view and a lot of places to walk around. A shopping centre and the highway close by are convenient . There are steps to climb up and down. And get motivation from the birds that fly down for fishy snacks. One or two busy squirrels that says, ' mind your business' are lovely. Purple green combo plants and flowers are beautiful."
