Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and the vibrant wildflower displays, especially during spring. The well-maintained trails offer a good mix of terrain for various fitness levels, and the marshlands are a highlight for birdwatching. While the $5 parking fee is generally accepted, some find limited access to water stations a drawback.

"This park offers a truly rewarding hiking experience with beautiful, panoramic views of the bay. The trail system features a great mix of terrain, with paths winding up and down the grassy hillsides.
For those looking for a challenge, there is a steep section that provides an excellent workout. While the overall elevation gain is moderate (likely under 1,000 feet), the varying slopes offer plenty of opportunities to get your heart pumping.
A highlight is the marsh area, which is a fantastic spot for birdwatching. You can often spot a variety of shorebirds and waterfowl here.
The views are stunning in every direction: you get a clear look at the west side of the bay and a beautiful, sweeping landscape on both sides of the ridge."

"Wonderful time. We'll worth the stop. Beautiful views of bay and San Francisco skyline from afar. Perfect trails, dog friendly and a cool visitor center with exhibits. Plenty of restrooms and drinking fountains. An awesome butterfly garden. Great to hike with tons of options for trails. Five dollar parking for all day. Season regional park passes are available."

"Visited on August 30, 2025. The weather was amazing. I only walked .5 miles of the Bayview Trail off the first parking lot with a stroller, my wife and our 2 year old grandson, but it was very nicely graded, paved until it opens up to a view of the Bay and an easy walk or bike if you just want a nice place to exercise or take in views of the Bay Area. There are picnic areas and places to sit along the way if needed. I’ll be back with a bike to do a more comprehensive tour. The views from the hills and trails above are presumably spectacular. I was with family and we had other obligations, but it was perfect for a quick stroll before heading to dinner."
