Reviews Summary

Visitors praise McInnis Canyons for its stunning natural beauty, abundant solitude, and excellent opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. The primitive nature is a significant draw for those seeking an escape from crowds. However, some find the road conditions challenging, especially after rain, and note the lack of amenities.

"My Uncle took us hiking here during a recent visit. I'm not an experienced hiker, but this was doable for me. It was challenging without being too strenuous. It was very peaceful and I felt safe. We had a great time. Definitely recommend!"

Kelly Norton

"What a fun place to explore! My timing wasn't so great; the area had received several days of precipitation prior to and the day that I arrived. So, access with my travel trailer to one of the designated camp sites was very challenging. I would probably recommend to not try to access the area with a large motorhome or a towed vehicle if it has rained/snowed in the previous 4 to 5 days. The roads were muddy, the trails were muddy, and even the grass areas out in the valleys were muddy. If you do decide to bring a rig into the area, I recommend very early in the morning, such as at sunrise, to take advantage of the more frozen soil then (for the winter time).

Otherwise, this is a great high mountain desert area that has access to some slick rock areas too."

Alan G

"Beautiful place! We rode buggy’s but I was jealous of the mountain bikers! Both experiences amazing! The views were awe inspiring and the weather was perfect!"
