"Crackers in the trees!" To mark the 241st anniversary of the Battle of Cowpens, we thought we'd have some fun with our friends from @7thregimentoffoot @7thregtoffoot on location at Cowpens National Battlefield. Around 160 men of the 7th regiment were at the battle on January 17, 1781. Thanks to the tactics of Patriot General Daniel Morgan, the rifles of local militia, and thunderous Patriot ca...

"I had a great time visiting Cowpens National Battlefield. Walking the battlefield trail was a highlight—there’s plenty of well-placed informational signage that helps you understand how the battle unfolded. The visitor center is also excellent, with a lot of good displays and a short film that clearly explains the battle and its significance. As always, the National Park Service staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Revolutionary War history!"

"We just happened to be here when there were reenactors! They made the visit extra special!
The volunteer couple in the visitor center was also extra-helpful and made the visit better than it would have been otherwise.
We didn't have enough time to do all we usually would do (walk the battlefield, etc.) because it was too close to closing time and we talked to the people quite long and the Jr. Ranger book was VERY involved.
So happy we stopped!"

Karissa Jefferson

"Revolutionary War battlefield. We started at the visitor center. They were very friendly and told us what we could see during our visit. We started by watching a short film on the Southern campaign. We then took the 1 mile hike to the battlefield. You can also complete an auto tour of the park. The park is well maintained and the restrooms at the visitor center are very clean. This is a great stop for American history buffs."
