"This is a nice little nature area in a residential neighborhood. And it is very small. Not to discount the variety of wildlife you will see here - I saw roseate spoonbills, herons, turtles. But don't expect to spend hours here. If you're in the area and want a quiet place for birding where you can take pictures with a telephoto lens, then this is a decent spot. It's clean and there is also a dedicated quiet area with benches where you can watch birds bathing or drinking in constructed baths (if you're patient). There are about 10 parking spots in a lot right outside the entrance. I visited on a normal weekday and there was plenty of parking."

"A small nature preserve of around twenty acres but a birding paradise and the only real place to take a walk in the woods on the island. One of those hidden gems of Galveston and very close to the state park, so worth the stop if you are heading there. The trail is also handicap accessible, which I am sure many people appreciate."
