What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
LeConte Lodge offers a truly unique and memorable mountain experience, praised for its stunning views, hearty meals, and warm, communal atmosphere. While the hike is strenuous and accommodations are rustic, guests consistently highlight the exceptional staff and the unforgettable nature of their stay. Some find breakfast a bit underwhelming, but it doesn't detract from the overall 'trip of a lifetime' sentiment.
"LeConte Lodge is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
After a strenuous hike, we arrived to a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth, and the afternoon drink service was a lovely touch—lemonade, coffee, hot chocolate, and even tea on request made for a comforting welcome.
The lodge was cozy and quiet, even during a very rainy stay. (At one point, the stairs looked more like a stream—but it all added to the adventure.) Despite the weather, the staff stayed upbeat and friendly. Though I’d heard they were slightly understaffed, it never showed—they were helpful and genuinely happy to chat.
Dinner is served family-style with assigned tables, which led to some great conversation with fellow guests. The food was hearty and satisfying. The room was warm and comfortable overnight, and the shared bathrooms were clean and well-maintained.
Breakfast the next morning was the only part that felt a little underwhelming—biscuits and grits didn’t quite match the standard of dinner, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We picked up our sack lunches and headed down the mountain already talking about our next trip.
Highly recommend—it’s a rustic, communal, and truly special mountaintop getaway."

"Took a challenging 8 mile hike up the mountain with a group of friends. Stayed overnight in a rustic cabin with some squeaky bunk beds, but I suppose that is part of the charm. The food was really good and the attendants were really nice."
