"The new Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary is a beautiful building with friendly, knowledgeable staff and volunteers located right on the riverbank. The bird watching is fantastic and the walking trails are well maintained. The building has a gift shop and a small area with exhibits and information about the sand hill cranes and the Platte River ecosystem. If you're in the area during the sand hill cranes migration, I highly recommend the bird blind guided tour experience; available at sunset and sunrise. The bird blinds are spacious even for large groups, have benches and a warming room, and (most importantly) a front row seat to see a variety of birds. I appreciate that the parking lot and building utilizes red lights at night to reduce disturbance to local wildlife."

The staff at Rowe were all friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with a wonderful, and informative, experience. We secured a dawn viewing experience from one of the blinds and returned for the Crane Basics educational session later in the day. The trip was definitely worth it. We plan to make this a part of our annual excursions!"
