"Great camping at 8000ft. Make sure to check the weather before you go because it can differ massively from the temperatures in Miami Arizona. The dirt road is 9 miles long and he’s fine for any car it’s just bumpy. Great view and hiking trails from up here"

Martin Wobbly

"This free campground is 18 miles from Globe (12 miles gravel). The gravel portion is very twisty and often very narrow. Globe is at 3,500 feet and the Pinal Campground at 7,500 feet. Probably a dozen tent sites with concrete picnic tables and fire pits. It's on a ridge with great southern and western views and shade provided by Ponderosa Pines and oaks. But, pack in and pack out and no electricity or water. Good place to see deer and humming birds. Nice trails and quiet environment."

Navigating the Terrain

The journey to Pinal Mountains Recreation Area involves a distinct change in elevation and road conditions. Starting from Globe at 3,500 feet, the drive ascends to the campground at 7,500 feet. The final 12 miles of the route are on a gravel road, described as twisty and sometimes narrow. While reviews indicate that most cars can handle this road, it's advisable to drive slowly and be aware of the terrain. Reddit

Once at the campground, the area is well-maintained with dirt roads connecting the various sites. Visitors have noted that while the main paths are clear, there might be a few forks in the road where additional signage would be helpful.
