"Had a fun visit on a rainy Friday afternoon. At the near end of the Gunflint Trail. An informative if small museum and nature center. Several building to explore and there is something for everyone at any age. Enjoyed the video presentations and the various exhibits. Walking trails around the area to explore and stretch the legs after the drive. Well worth the trip to the end of the trail. Would highly recommend a visit when in the area."

"Great place to visit and appreciate the natural beauty of the Gunflint trail while also learning a little bit about the history of it. Amazing views all around the grounds. Especially enjoyed the nature center where we were able to use microscopes to look at lichen and bark and also view footage from their amazing trail cams. Wish it hadn’t been so rainy, then we probably would have spent more time walking around their trails!"

Caroline? (7-27) working in the Nature Center was amazing, so friendly & knowledgeable!
We learned so much about wildfires, how necessary they are to the balance of the ecosystem and how quickly the forest bounces back.
I wish my geologist son was along with us. He would have loved meeting her & talking.
While it is a LONG way up the Gunflint Trail (all the way to the end) it's worth the drive.
We left a 65° cool, drizzling Grand Marais, navigated through some dense fog & were rewarded with a HOT 92° mid-day temp at Chik-Wauk."
