Is this the Scariest Trail in the USA 🥴 Climbing the Colorado 14er (Grays Peak) along the Continental Divide is considered the scariest section of trail on any long-distance hiking trail in America! Honestly I was pretty freaked out going into it... I read trip reports of past CDT hikers about how sketchy this traverse was... But as soon as I got on it, I was oddly calm and super focused on wa...

However, visitors should be aware of potential seasonal closures due to wildlife and the trail's moderate difficulty, which requires good preparation.

"Great bike or hike to the summit. Amazing views at the top looking over Big Bear Lake. Start from Hannah Flats campground for a good 5 mile loop."

Brent Clair

"One of the best hikes in/around Big Bear! A couple things to be aware of though:
1) It’s moderately difficult with a significant climb as you near the peak. The hike is 7-9 miles round trip, depending on if you add the stretch to Hanna Flat campground.
2) This is a bald eagle’s nesting area so the trail is closed for several months of the year. Be sure to ask the Discovery Center, ranger station or visitors center before you head over there.
If you’re lucky enough to get in, enjoy the lovely scenery and a great workout."
