"I was not here for services. Instead, I took the time to walk the grounds of this beautiful church and tour the cemetery.

The church was consecrated in 1854 and is the oldest organized religious body and the oldest church building remaining in Greenville. Rev. John D. McCollough, who had designed and built over a dozen churches in upstate South Carolina, drew the final plans and built the church. The cornerstone was laid on May 29, 1852. It contained religious books, church and diocesan publications in a sealed copper box.

The cemetery is in excellent condition. Pedestrians only but easily walkable. The grass is well trimmed and the stones are in great condition. The cemetery includes the final resting place of former Governor Benjamin Franklin Perry(1805-1886), his son US Congressman William H Perry (1839-1902) and US Senator Joseph H. Earle (1847-1897)."
