Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Grove of the Patriarchs for its awe-inspiring ancient trees and serene atmosphere, often describing it as a 'natural cathedral.' The easy, short trail and the unique suspension bridge are frequently highlighted as enjoyable features. Some note that parking can be challenging during busy periods.

"The Grove of the Patriarchs is a magical place almost like a cathedral where one feels as if they should speak in whispers. Towering Douglas Firs and western Red Cedars, some more then 25-feet in circumference and over 1,000 years old create an outdoor cathedral. It is quiet, cool and peaceful in this grove and the trees are magnificent. We so enjoyed this lovely place.
There is a 1.5-mile easy gravel walking trail under these trees."

Celeste Ruppelt

"A quick hike from the trail with lots of informational signs about the local flora and fauna. And then you get to the bridge over the river separating the Grove from the rest of the world, and it’s like youve walked into a fantasy novel. These trees are huge! And they have really renovated the area with planked walk ways and such to make interacting with the views fun but safe for you and the trees.
After the tour of the grove, I suggest sitting by the river and maybe skipping a rock or two. Absolutely gorgeous.
Use the southeast entrance into the park to get there easily. Parking at the trail head, but it’s usually pretty busy."

Jordan Clement

"This is a very nice easy hike through Old Growth forest. A good part of the trail is on boardwalks and you even get to cross a fun suspension bridge!"
