What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway for its stunning canyon views and numerous waterfalls, often describing it as an unexpected natural gem. The affordability of the state park entrance fee and the ease of access for a scenic drive are frequently highlighted positives. Some reviewers note the proximity of I-84 as a minor drawback, but most agree the natural beauty outweighs this.
"Loved this park! We were the only ones there. $7 entrance fee (good for all state parks for the day I believe). No one there so it was a self-pay station. The walk to the bridge is short but the falls are directly under you. Continue walking for maybe a 1/2 mile (or less) to a better view point. Yes, you hear I-84 the whole time but you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere. Amazing views. The lighting is probably better in the late afternoon or evening. Great park with a playground and such nearby as well."

"This small State Park is located right off of interstate 84. You will need an Idaho State park pass or pay a $7.00 fee to enter which is also good for the day at all Idaho State parks.
At the first stop is a short hike where you can see the narrow gorge from a bridge that crosses over the deep canyon which the main highway passes right over.
There is a short loop road with easy driving and with great lookout stops along the way. At the entrance they will provide you with an informed pamphlet/map of each 5 stops.
This State park also provides a picnic area and restrooms. This was a fun stop for us."

"Amazing views! What a wonderful experience for only $7. Can't believe thousands of people every day drive across the canyon without even realizing what's below the freeway! Roughly an hour outside of Boise and completely worth the drive! Five different viewpoints to choose from a map includes details of every viewpoint."
