"We recently held a group event here with about 30 people, and honestly? It was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff at Cave Hollow West were not only welcoming — they were flat-out awesome. Super friendly, helpful, and genuinely made us feel at home from the second we walked in. You can tell they know how to handle events and big groups without skipping a beat.

We were there for a paint-and-sip party, and the space worked out perfectly. It was clean, spacious, and had just the right vibe — a mix of rustic charm and relaxed elegance. After we all finished our paintings, we even had a little fun with a competition. Everybody was smiling, laughing, and having a great time.

Now let’s talk drinks: their wine slushies are where it’s at. The bourbon wine slushy was my personal favorite — just the right blend of sweet and smooth with a little kick. The regular wine slushies were also a huge hit with the group. And as a bourbon fan, I was pleasantly surprised to find they also offer a solid selection of medium and premium bourbons and whiskeys — not something you expect at a winery, but a very welcome surprise. I spotted bottles from familiar favorites and even a couple that aren’t always easy to find.

While our group provided the food, everything else was handled beautifully by the venue. The whole event ran smoothly, and the atmosphere — paired with the winery’s scenic surroundings — just made the day feel special.

Cave Hollow West isn’t just a place to grab a glass of wine — it’s a destination. Whether you’re hosting a group, stopping in during a Hannibal getaway, or just looking for a chill afternoon with good drinks and even better views, this place is absolutely worth the stop.

Pro tip: Make time to check out the Mark Twain Cave Complex right next door if you’ve never been. It’s a cool experience, and the winery is the perfect spot to unwind afterward.

"Nice winery with some good wines (especially the sweeter ones). Live entertainment outside on Saturday night. Dog friendly on the outside patio. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Could be improved if they offered some type of food or cheese trays or something, or maybe brought in a food truck or something on the weekends."

"Very nice autumn walk from campground to the winery. Very nice winery. Friendly service, GOOD wines, good prices, great seating in and out. We were outside with our 2 yorkie dogs. Dog friendly here. :) . Two young women musicians that were very good and mellow music Saturday night. Very nice evening. We have stayed here and been here several times in the past. Will return and recommend."
